Threads, Meta’s text-based microblogging social platform designed to compete with X, has announced that it has surpassed 500 million monthly active users (MAU).
Meta says this figure reflects the platform’s continued improvement based on user feedback. The 500 million mark is an increase of 100 million from August last year, when Threads reported 400 million users.
Threads also announced several new features to celebrate this milestone, including:

Community, which includes a Hub for easier searching, a new chat icon, a status bar for topics about to be promoted to community status, and more.
Your Algo allows users to customize the algorithm to select content based on their interests, similar to Instagram. However, this feature is currently only available in select countries, excluding Thailand.
