AMD has reached a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs, an AI research lab co-founded by Fei-Fei Li, in a deal valued at approximately $8.2 billion. World Labs develops spatial intelligence models that create, reconstruct, and simulate interactive 3D environments.
The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approval. Upon completion, Li will join AMD as Executive Vice President and Chief Scientist.
