Overseas Airlines Add New Flights to Laos, Boosting Regional Connectivity

-

Laos is preparing for stronger regional air connectivity as airlines introduce new and expanded services linking Vientiane and Luang Prabang with Phnom Penh, Singapore and Bangkok. The additional flights are expected to give tourists, business travellers and officials more travel options while supporting trade and tourism.

New Phnom Penh–Vientiane route

Air Cambodia plans to launch direct flights between Phnom Penh and Vientiane on December 15, 2026. The service is scheduled to operate three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The route will provide a more convenient link between the two neighbouring capitals and is expected to encourage business and tourism exchanges.

Scoot increases Singapore services

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, increased its Singapore–Vientiane services from three to five flights per week starting October 25. Flights operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with additional services on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, flights leave Singapore at 10:00am and arrive in Vientiane at noon. Return flights depart Vientiane at 12:35pm and arrive in Singapore at 4:55pm. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, departures from Singapore are scheduled for 4:00pm, arriving in Vientiane at 6:05pm. Return services leave Vientiane at 6:40pm and arrive in Singapore at 11:00pm. All times are local; Singapore is one hour ahead of Laos.

Luang Prabang–Bangkok flights resume

Lao Airlines resumed flights between Luang Prabang and Bangkok on October 26, with services four days a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights depart Luang Prabang at 7:40am and arrive in Bangkok at 9:40am. The return flight leaves Bangkok at 10:20am and reaches Luang Prabang at 12:20pm.

More options for travellers and businesses

The expanded routes strengthen Laos’ links with key ASEAN destinations and regional travel hubs. Improved air access may make it easier for visitors to combine destinations, support business travel and encourage closer people-to-people connections. Travellers should confirm schedules and availability directly with airlines before booking, as flight times may change.
