Foxconn, Intel team up to develop next-generation AI infrastructure

Taiwan’s Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry, said on Thursday it will collaborate with U.S. chipmaker Intel to develop and deploy next-generation AI infrastructure and intelligent computing platforms, aiming to meet the growing demand for AI computing systems worldwide.

The two companies said the partnership will combine Intel’s semiconductor technology with Foxconn’s manufacturing and integration capabilities to deliver solutions for next-generation AI data centers and edge computing applications.

The partnership will focus on AI data center equipment, including Intel Xeon processor-based servers and AI accelerators. The two companies also plan to collaborate on technology development in areas such as high-speed connectivity, thermal management and energy efficiency.

Beyond traditional data centers, Foxconn and Intel said they will develop AI systems for applications including factories, smart cities and robotics, as they look to expand AI computing infrastructure to a broader range of industrial and commercial use cases.
