Threads, Meta’s text-focused social media service, is gradually rolling out new features. The latest is Communities, a community of like-minded people, similar to X/Twitter.
Communities on Threads operates similarly to X: they’re public rooms where anyone can join and discuss their interests. Initially, there are over 100 rooms available for discussion on topics such as basketball, TV shows, and K-Pop.

A unique feature is that each room has its own custom “Like” icon, such as a basketball icon in the basketball room, a book icon in the reading room, and in the future, special badges will be added to the names of high-profile members in that room.
