XPeng Unveils New IRON Humanoid Robot with AI Brain

-

XPeng, a Chinese EV manufacturer, unveiled its new IRON humanoid robot at the 2025 XPeng Tech Day, calling it “the most human-like robot ever.”

IRON features a bionic “bone-muscle-skin” structure, featuring a flexible spine, synthetic muscles, soft skin all over its body, and 22 degrees of dexterity in its hands. The robot operates on a basic physical model powered by three Turing AI chips, integrating advanced vision, language, and movement capabilities as part of a multi-brain AI architecture for conversation, interaction, and movement.

XPeng said IRON is the industry’s first humanoid robot to use a full solid-state battery and supports indoor autonomous emergency braking (AEB) for enhanced safety. It also introduces the “Rule of Four,” which ensures that users’ personal information is not disclosed to the robot. The company plans to commercialize IRON first, aiming for mass production by the end of 2026.
